8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall DJ is fresh and crisp in new mylar cover. It is price-clipped on the diagonal. Small ink mark on page edges, foredge.. The title "Fresh Every Morning" comes from the story of Moses and the children of Israel when they were wandering in the wilderness. The Israelites were complaining and murmuring against Moses. God had promised them provision, and manna was supplied, but they were warned by Moses not to take more than enough for one day's need. "As is always the case, there were those who thought they knew more than God, and they collected enough for several days; they wanted security. " The thought emerging here concerns our security and insecurity, and God's provision for us not only physically but in other ways. A quote from Bonhoeffer, the German Christian executed by the Nazi, amplifies: "I believe God will give us all the power we need to resist in all the time of distress. But He never gives it in advance, lest we should rely upon ourselves and not on Him alone. " The author adds, "This power is given to us fresh every morning....In this faith we live our lives in confidence.
